Well good morning again. It's 1:08am. It's 53° this morning. Sky is cloudy and will be so for a majority of the day. Our high temp will be around 60°. There is rain predicted for late afternoon. Humidity is at 63% and air quality is moderate. And it's also a NOPE day. No smoking for me today.

Work yesterday was busy. That should be in all capital letters! Customers started rolling in very early for a Sunday. Usually we don't get busy til about 10am. My phrase is "it's to peoplie" We could not move. Orders were dropping at about 1500-1800 pieces per hour. I think we should have air horns on our carts. Trust me when I say we must be invisible. People will run to get in front of us then stop! I want to yell at them. These carts can weigh up to 400 pounds. Stopping them takes strength. I cannot for the life of me figure out why they think we can stop them on a dime and give nine cents in change!
Oh well such is life. I must finish getting ready. Y'all have a great Monday and as always please be nice be kind today.

Smoking vs. Not Smoking When You Crave
From CarlyKicksButts on 7/28/2011 9:33:43 PM
Got a Craving?
If you smoke right this very minute, you will relieve that bad craving in a matter of minutes and the craving will go away.
Of course, taking even one puff will guarantee that you will have another equally strong (or stronger) craving anywhere from 10 to 50 minutes later (give or take).
This cycle will absolutely continue until you die, or until you quit smoking.
On the other hand, if you do NOT smoke right this very minute, you will STILL relieve that last bad craving in a matter of minutes and the craving WILL go away. It will. Cravings do not last. They go away.
But because you did not take even one puff, you will guarantee that you have just ever so slightly DECREASED the strength of your addiction. You may still get a craving anywhere from 10 to 50 minutes later (give or take), but that will NOT continue until you die.
Nope, each day the cravings WILL get further apart and WEAKER.
Until one day in the not so distant future, you don't even notice and you don't even think about smoking any more.
Your choice.
I want to tell you the FREEDOM to choose to no longer be a "Crave Slave" (copyright Carly hehe) is indescribably amazing.
So why not choose THAT?

Holy cow! It's 1:07am. It's a NOPE day and a Sunday! Middle Tennessee is cold. Only 38° however expected to warm to around 70°. No rain expected and it should be sunny. Wind is at 1mph and air quality is moderate.
Work day for me. If it's like yesterday I will scream. Insanely busy in the online grocery world. 7 of our associates decided to call out. Our manager pulled people from all departments. Work day for me. If it's like yesterday I will scream. Insanely busy in the online grocery world. 7 of our associates decided to call out. Our manager pulled people from all departments. Many had never pulled grocery orders. The "blue flu" callout frenzy was caused by Thanksgiving/Black Friday schedules being posted. Let's just say i would not want to be on the receiving end of the conversations that are about to be had.
Time to get motivated. It's going to be a long day. Y'all have a fantastic day and above all please be nice be kind today.

We walked 16,483 steps yesterday
We stopped every now again to calm our hearts down and catch our breath
Today we are taking and one break in between the 16,483 steps
I am so grateful by my God's grace I don't smoke anymore
We rested in between walking to from rooms and we laughed that we will not be coming to this HUGE conventions but once every 7 years it was even 5 years yet we admit the HUGE crowd of people the HUGE walking first's between support groups is just to much for our old bodies...We walked 16,483 steps yesterday

We are too old too tired and we are aware we are accepting and we do the best action we can step by step
Whew good sweating too
I am so very very grateful I have healthy lungs today

Emotional Coping Tools I Have Found
From BilliB on 5/25/2003 11:56:08 PM
In an earlier post this evening the subject was brought up about the emotional connection and smoking. I have really watched this part unfold in my quit.
Since the early days of my quit, when I was in detox after 40 + years of smoking....... I am lucky to be so healthy as I am. In the beginning of my quit everything was CRS. Nothing made any sense and the cravings went up and down and I just had to fight my way through that part.
As the days, weeks, months went along I really watched my craving patterns. Each time I would really want to smoke, I found that I was being challenged by something in my life. I wanted that crutch, that little bit of reassurance that a smoke would give me. Never did I come close to lighting up, but the urge/thinking was pretty strong sometime.
Here are a few techniques I have learned and use to *follow the string of my emotions*
When upset, do deep breathing to get yourself back in balance. Focus on slowing down your breathing. When we are upset, we are moving fast with our emotions and need to slow down. We can't sort things out when our emotions are flying around uncontrolled.
Think about what is REALLY upsetting you. (not just that you had a fight with someone.......) What are you feeling ? the feeling that is deeper then the anger. Stop and figure out what is really happening on a gut level. Don't be a quick to blame everything on the other person.......
Stop all the negative talk in your head. Not easy, but that is the goal. Learn to think kinder thoughts about yourself. You are a good person and you would not be friends with someone who treated you as awful as you treat yourself.
Work with positive affirmations. What you think about, what you believe is what you bring into your life. Get excited about your quit, be sure to always honor how wonderful your life is without nicotine as the center of everything you do.
I hope these ideas give some thoughts to ponder during your quit. Life is full of new twists and turns all the time. As nicotine addicts we tend to reach for our *comfort stick* if even in our minds.
Smoking is no longer an option in my life. I smoked well over my quota and one day at a time, I make the choice not to smoke again.
